As if things weren't already bad enough with kids abusing each other over words... especially in high school... now we have grown ass adults doing the same thing?
During her acceptance speech as Vice Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin made the comment.. "The only difference between a Hockey mom and a pit bull is lipstick." And yes, she was referring to herself, so no harm done.
Presidential nominee, Barack Obama made a comment yesterday.. "You can put lipstick on a pig ... it's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."
So of course, the McCain campaign had to place an internet ad saying that Obama directly attacked Palin and that he started a smear campaign (another lipstick reference??? lol). And of course, so as not to be outdone, Obama comes back with, "What their campaign has done this morning is the same game that has made people sick and tired of politics in this country. They seize on an innocent remark, try to take it out of context, throw up an outrageous ad because they know that it's catnip for the news media."
When are all of these people going to grow up?
Yes, what Obama said about the lipstick was a direct link to what Palin said. He could have used any other metaphor but chose one already used by the other party... 'lipstick'.
Yes, the McCain camp went overboard and started demanding an apology just in an effort to smear Obama back.
Obama is right... these kind of antics are definitely fodder for the news media. But it seems both sides are enjoying watching the cats get high on their cat-nip.
They were both wrong! And it isn't just the Republicans taking things out of context, dear Obama.. the Dems have been doing it for years, too.. and your campaign is no exception. To all the candidates... Grow up!!! So far.. my vote is for no one!
