This message is geared toward the Manga Staff...

Since we no longer have one of the males and one of the females.. we can still decide the options in the previous thread (Character Names Decided), but the manga project as a whole, is now going to take longer than need be. The Sketch Art was divided between two people because it is a task that is too heavy for one person to handle alone, especially when there are other issues that we all need to deal with, as has been stated numerous times by me. Now that Lucieno is our only Sketch Artist, we cannot expect her to take care of her schoolwork, especially since it is exam time, and also pump out a multitude of sketches, as well. Yes, this means that we are in need of another sketch artist, and while I have one in mind, it needs to be asked of her if she is willing to accept, and if she has the time in which to do it.. that person would be Blackmamba.

As for the recent events that occurred on the A~D forum, which was, in my opinion, sad because it had more to do with the manga project than anything, it would be even more sad, if we allow the negative effects of others to dampen our enthusiasm on a project that many of us have been looking forward to, and have been biding our time waiting for our turn to do something. Yes, a deadline of February 29 was set to have a huge chapter out, and while I still see that as being a feasible deadline, it will be near impossible to get out the size chapter originally intended. We can still have centerfold images, which would have taken up more space in the larger chapter, eliminating alot of strain off the Sketchers, but we will now be dropping the first chapter size down to a mere 5-10 pages if possible. I know that sounds rather small, but it doesn't have to be an actual chapter to the manga, but a simple little introduction of the characters.

As for the overall tone of the manga itself, I stand by my decision in having the storyline that was chosen. I also believe, that the title of the manga that was voted in, is a very good focus on our entire project. It is difficult to write any story without a focus. I also believe that our character names have helped give us a focus on who our characters are and their personalities. All of these names were chosen because we all already had a very good idea in how we perceived our characters and the story to be.

Right now, we are in need of another male character.. However, just because we do not have the other male and female that we originally started out with, does not mean that the two beautiful characters that Lucieno drew cannot be the bases of our first story. In all stories, whether manga or simply fiction, not all of the characters are introduced at once. Given this, I have full faith that the writing team is more than capable of an introductory chapter using only the two characters that we currently have.. or even just one. It's not an impossible task, it just requires a little bit of change in the plans.

I doubt that we are ever going to see this project through to the end without ever changing directions. There will be times when an even better idea comes to us, and we all agree that taking that other road will be more beneficial than sticking to the original plan. It's a part of life, so too, will it be a part of the manga. It's bound to happen, although lets hope it is not a common occurance.

I hope this gives everyone a better sense of where we currently stand, and at the very least, a bit of guidance as to where we need to go next. As usual, I am asking that you post your input. And thank you, to all of you that have decided to at least give this a try without giving up before it even gets started.

This is good to hear Kyo, I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I am glad we are going to still go through with the manga. Slow Down... Not the End 245150

Yes, the manga is still a go. If everyone ceased to do what they started all because someone said it couldn't be done, we wouldn't have a bit of technology, any books, any bridges, any skyscrapers, we wouldn't have anything. Honestly, I found the timing of the whole thing to be better done now, than after we fully began. Besides, it came at the heels of my posting this week's quote.. "The dawn is not far away, but before you can reach the dawn, the dark night has to be passed through." ~Osho ..this is just something that we stubbed our toes on as we are exiting the dark night. Wink

And thank you for the pm suggesting King as another person to help with the sketches. During all of this, I had forgotten about how well he can also sketch. We'll ask him and see if he is still interested, too, even if just part time. Slow Down... Not the End 693126

    *EDIT
Good news! After speaking with Blackmamba today, she has agreed to join Lucieno on the Sketch team. yay Thank you, Blackmamba!
