On September 16th everyone of Mexican decent celebrates our Independence from Spain.

The War of Independence led by the Mexican-born Spaniards became a reality. The movement for independence was far from gaining unanimous support among Mexicans, who became divided between independentists, autonomists and royalists.

On the dawn of 16 September, the revolutionary army decided to strike for independence and marched on to Guanajuato, a major colonial mining centre governed by Spaniards and criollos, here the leading citizens barricaded themselves in the granary. The rebel army captured the granary on 28 September, and most of the Spaniards and criollos were massacred or exiled.

Yes.... seems to be a very fitting day for all those that live in Mexico. To celebrate the independence of one's own country while continuing to toil away trying to make that country better and help it thrive..... nothing better than being proud to be Mexican upon those circumstances. Congratulations Mexico! ^^

Viva! Not only is it the independence of mexico but it also the 199th year in which it was independent from Spain. So for any of those who are part of the Hispanic, Latino culture; cry out your shout. Viva Mexico!
